Sanctuary Lodge

About Sanctuary Lodge

Sanctuary Lodge is a private residential rehabilitation centre located in the town of Halstead, Essex. The centre provides structured treatment for alcohol addiction, drug addiction, prescription medication misuse, behavioural addictions, stimulant use, sleeping pill dependency, and legal high use, with integrated support for co-occurring mental health conditions.

Treatment Approach

Sanctuary Lodge delivers residential drug and alcohol treatment through a holistic care model that combines therapeutic, educational, and wellbeing-focused interventions. Treatment is designed to address substance use alongside emotional, behavioural, and psychological factors that contribute to addiction.

Programmes typically run for 28 days and include on-site detoxification when clinically appropriate. Care plans follow a structured daily schedule that incorporates therapy, recovery education, and group-based activities, allowing individuals to explore different therapeutic approaches within a consistent residential routine.

Therapy and Clinical Support

Sanctuary Lodge offers a broad range of therapeutic support delivered through both individual and group formats. Therapy options include evidence-based and holistic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), psychotherapy, talking therapies, acupuncture, and 12-Step-based work.

Group therapy sessions provide a setting for shared discussion and peer engagement, while individual therapy offers private, focused support. Mental health care is available for dual diagnosis presentations, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia, codependency, anger-related difficulties, stress, and addiction-related risk concerns.

The centre offers structured residential programmes designed to support stabilisation, recovery skills, and continued development beyond primary treatment. Programmes and services available include:

  • Residential rehab programme
  • Medically supported alcohol, drug, and prescription detox
  • Family programme and involvement sessions

The property includes well-maintained gardens and outdoor areas where clients can spend time outdoors as part of daily routine, supporting reflection and balance alongside therapy.
