Linwood House is a residential rehabilitation centre located in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Established in 2006, the clinic provides structured, on-site treatment for individuals affected by alcohol dependence, drug use, prescription medication misuse, and behavioural addictions. Care is delivered in a residential setting with detoxification and rehabilitation services available under one roof.
Treatment Approach
Linwood House follows a structured residential treatment model that combines medically supported detox, holistic group-based therapies, and 12-step literature. Treatment is designed to provide stability and routine, with clinical oversight throughout the recovery process and care plans shaped around individual needs.
The standard residential programme runs for approximately 90 days. Alcohol and drug detox services are delivered on-site, allowing continuity of care from admission through rehabilitation. Treatment focuses on physical stabilisation, therapeutic participation, and preparation for ongoing recovery following residential care.
Therapy and Clinical Support
Therapy at Linwood House includes a blend of evidence-based and holistic approaches delivered mainly in a group setting. Cognitive behavioural therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy are used alongside structured group therapy sessions, supporting emotional regulation and behavioural awareness.
Additional therapies include holistic interventions such as yoga therapy and sound therapy, contributing to daily routine and wellbeing. Mental health support addresses a broad range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, grief, insomnia, and stress-related concerns. Care is adapted for individuals with co-occurring mental health needs.
